Quick Quesadilla (5 minute snack!)

Ingredients

  • 1 flour or corn tortilla
  • 1/3 cup shredded cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, or mozzarella
  • Optional: Chopped veggies bell peppers, onions, tomatoes
  • Optional: Cooked protein chicken, beans, or tofu

Instructions

  • Heat a dry skillet or add a small amount of oil/butter over medium heat.
  • Place the tortilla flat in the pan.
  • Sprinkle cheese evenly over one half of the tortilla.
  • Add any veggies or protein if using.
  • Fold the tortilla in half to cover the filling.
  • Cook for 1–2 minutes per side, pressing lightly with a spatula, until golden and crispy and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Remove from the pan, let cool slightly, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Alternative Cooking Methods

Air Fryer:
  • Preheat to 350°F (175°C).
  • Assemble quesadilla as usual.
  • Air fry for 3–4 minutes, flipping halfway if needed, until golden and crisp.
Microwave (Quickest, but softer):
  • Place tortilla on a microwave-safe plate.
  • Add cheese and fillings to one half, then fold.
  • Microwave for 30–45 seconds, or until cheese melts.
  • Let cool before slicing.
Toaster Oven:
  • Preheat toaster oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Assemble quesadilla and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tortilla is lightly browned and cheese is melted.
